Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern all bicycle rentals, guided tours, servicing, and related activities provided by Avalanche Algarve (“we”, “our”, “us”). By booking any service through avalanchealgarve.com, WhatsApp, email, or in person, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to rent a bike or book a tour.
  • A valid ID (passport or national ID) may be required upon delivery.
  • You must be physically capable of riding safely.

2. Services Covered by These Terms

These Terms apply to the following:

  • Bike Rental
  • Guided Bike Tours
  • Bike Service & Repair
  • Delivery & Pickup

3. What Is Included in a Rental

  • Helmet
  • Lock
  • Basic accessories
  • A bike tuned by a race-experienced mechanic

Additional accessories may be requested during booking.

4. Rental Duration & Return Conditions

  • Rental starts at the agreed pickup/delivery time.
  • Bikes must be returned on time to avoid late fees.
  • Late returns may incur an extra day charge.
  • Extensions must be arranged in advance and are subject to availability.

5. Delivery & Pick-Up Policy

  • We deliver to most Faro, Albufeira, and Algarve regions.
  • Delivery fees may apply depending on distance and access.
  • You must be present to receive or return the bicycle.
  • Missed delivery may require rescheduling with an additional fee.

6. Your Responsibilities During the Rental

  • Ride safely and follow all Portuguese traffic laws.
  • Lock the bike whenever unattended.
  • Use the bicycle only for its intended purpose.
  • Do not sub-rent or lend the bike to another person.
  • Do not ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Report any mechanical issues immediately.

7. Damage, Loss & Theft

  • You are responsible for any damage caused by misuse or crashes.
  • Theft may result in a replacement charge.
  • Normal wear and tear is not charged.
  • Repair costs follow our Damage Policy.

8. Mechanical Support

  • We provide support for mechanical issues not caused by misuse.
  • Punctures are normal riding incidents and not covered as defects.
  • If the problem is caused by misuse, a service fee applies.

9. Guided Tour Terms

9.1 Tour Requirements

  • Participants must follow the guide’s instructions at all times.
  • Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Riders must assess their own skill and fitness level.

9.2 Safety During Tours

  • Helmets are required unless legally exempt.
  • The guide may cancel or reroute a tour due to weather or safety risks.
  • If a rider behaves irresponsibly, the guide may remove them from the tour.

9.3 Delays & Weather

  • Weather-related adjustments are at the guide’s discretion.
  • If a tour must be cancelled for safety, we offer rescheduling or refunds as per our Refund Policy.

10. Service & Repair Terms

  • Quotes are estimates; final pricing may vary depending on parts and labour.
  • We are not responsible for pre-existing defects unless previously declared.
  • Unclaimed bikes after 60 days may incur storage fees.

11. Payments

  • All services must be paid in full at or before delivery unless agreed otherwise.
  • Prices are in EUR and may change without notice.
  • A booking is confirmed only after written confirmation via WhatsApp or email.

12. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Full rules are detailed in our Refund Policy. Summary:

  • Free cancellation within time limits stated on the booking page.
  • No-shows may be charged the full amount.
  • Weather-related exceptions may apply to tours.

13. Liability

  • You ride at your own risk.
  • We are not responsible for injuries, accidents, or third-party damages.
  • You must ensure the bike suits your skill level and intended route.
  • We do not cover personal items lost during the rental or tour.

14. Prohibited Use

  • No off-road downhill riding unless using appropriate equipment and approved by us.
  • No transport of additional passengers unless on designated attachments.
  • No riding on restricted or prohibited paths.

15. Personal Data

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Portuguese law. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Portugal.
